Anodised Nameplates
We offer a range of anodised aluminium nameplate options to suit different durability, appearance, and application requirements. These include true sub anodised printing, laser engraving, and direct screen printing, allowing the most appropriate method to be selected based on the intended environment and performance needs.
SUB-ANODISED ALUMINIUM PLATES
Sub-Anodised Printing Method
At PhotoEtch, we specialise in true sub anodised aluminium printing, producing nameplates and plaques designed for maximum durability. Unlike surface printing methods, sub anodised printing embeds the image within the anodised layer, making the nameplates suitable for harsh, abrasive, and chemically exposed environments.
Laser Engraving Method
This technique uses fibre laser technology to permanently mark intricate silver/white details and images onto black and coloured pre-anodised aluminium. The process results in a product that is resistant to, abrasion, high-temperatures, salt-spray and chemical exposure.
UV Rating
Approximate fade onset under full sun exposure.
• Black and Dark Grey – 5 to 10 years
• Blue – 3 to 6 years
• Green – 2 to 4 years
• Orange – 1 to 2 years
• Red and Yellow – 6 to 24 months
Timeframes indicate when noticeable colour fade may begin in full UV exposure. They are not a guaranteed service life and will vary depending on orientation, climate, and environmental conditions.
Mounting
For easy installation, our anodised nameplates can be supplied with pre-drilled holes suitable for rivets or screws. Alternatively, we offer high-strength adhesive backings that adhere securely to various surfaces, including metal, plastic, and powder-coated finishes, ensuring a straightforward and reliable mounting process.
Shapes & Sizes
We offer a wide range of standard and custom anodised aluminium nameplates, with aluminium cut, pressed, or laser cut to achieve the required shape. Finishing options such as corner cropping and hole punching are available to suit mounting needs and improve appearance. Nameplates are produced in thicknesses from 0.5mm to 3mm, selected based on durability requirements, mounting method, and environmental exposure.
Screen Printed Anodised Nameplates
Screen printed anodised aluminium plates offer a high degree of scratch resistance while remaining a more cost effective option. This method is particularly well suited to colour printing, delivering strong, vibrant colours and making it suitable for outdoor applications and environments with higher sun exposure.
Screen Printing Method
Screen printing on anodised aluminium involves applying specialised inks directly onto the anodised surface through a precision stencil. The ink is then cured to bond with the anodised layer, producing sharp, consistent graphics with good adhesion and durability. This process allows for accurate colour reproduction and reliable performance in outdoor and general industrial applications.
Shapes & Sizes
Utilising precision laser cutting, we can produce plates in various shapes and sizes. Choose from our wide range of standard press tool shapes, or we can manufacture custom designs to suit your needs. Additional finishing options include corner cropping and hole pressing in different sizes to accommodate specific mounting preferences.
